Many Different Ways to Kill
As bombing slows, Israel’s restrictions on aid, healthcare, sanitation, and media coverage are reshaping Gaza’s humanitarian crisis into a prolonged, lethal siege.

In its ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people, Israel has developed many different ways to kill.
Israel kills by dropping heavy bombs on Gaza. Bombs that shred human bodies. Bombs that create blast radii the size of city blocks. Bombs that collapse high-rise residential buildings, burying hundreds of families under the rubble. The very worst of the bombing appears to be over, but the bombing has not stopped; it only continues at a slower pace.
Israel kills by littering Gaza with unexploded ordnance, which blow the limbs off Palestinian children.
Israel kills by destroying the health system, so that the injured and the chronically sick cannot receive the medical care they need. Treatable wounds and treatable conditions go untreated and people die needlessly. The knock-on effects from the decimated healthcare system will continue far into the future. Israel kills by eliminating the sanitation system, so that the population succumbs to water-borne diseases like cholera, polio, and hepatitis.
Israel kills by blocking trucks carrying food and potable water, so that the people are severely malnourished, many starve to death, and die from drinking dirty, unsafe water.
Israel kills by keeping the public in the dark, by banning western media from covering the carnage, by assassinating over 250 Palestinian journalists to silence their courageous truth-telling. You might think this is “old news,” that the genocidal assault is over; we have a “ceasefire” now. But you would be wrong. Israel has flagrantly violated the “ceasefire” over 1,000 times. Israel has killed over 400 Palestinians since the October 2025 “ceasefire,” including 67 children. Israel also has reneged on its commitment to let 600 trucks/day into the Gaza strip. The actual number hovers around 150, some days less.
As unbearable as these facts are, until recently at least there were dozens of international aid agencies active in Gaza. They came to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people with food assistance, medical assistance, water and sanitation projects, tents and makeshift shelters, blankets, educational support, and a host of other forms of humanitarian help. This was “the world,” the “global community” sending its best, its most compassionate and skilled workers, to do whatever they could to bring immediate relief and help the population survive. Now, these helpers have been banned from Gaza. Israel has banned 37 international aid agencies from working in Gaza. These 37 aid agencies are also banned from working in the West Bank. All their licenses have been revoked. Many of the world’s most respected humanitarian aid agencies are on the list:
Doctors Without Borders
Oxfam
The International Rescue Committee
The Norwegian Refugee Council
CARE
Mercy Corps
World Vision International
American Friends Service Committee
Defense for Children International
Caritas
Near East Council of Churches
Without their presence in Gaza, Israel will be relying on the shadowy Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a death-trap masquerading as a food distribution organization. This is the same organization that former Green Beret, Lt. Col. Anthony Aguilar blew the whistle on. We will be hearing from Anthony on January 18th in our first webinar of 2026. Please see the flyer below, register, and plan to join us. Anthony Aguilar is an outstanding and inspiring person of ethical integrity and moral courage. His voice and witness are essential.
I acknowledge that it is conceivable that mounting public pressure may force Israel to reverse course. This is a public relations nightmare for Israel. The bad optics might move even apartheid, genocidal Israel to renew some of the licenses of these international aid agencies. But their track record makes perfectly clear: they’ll never let enough aid in to turn the tide. Israel has once again showed its hand: they intend to continue the genocide. The “shock and awe” phase of the killing is behind us now. But Israel’s “slow-drip” genocide continues with all its different ways to kill.
