The Truth is Coming Out
New reporting is unraveling the official story of October 7—exposing how propaganda, disputed atrocity claims, and the Hannibal Directive helped create the pretext for Gaza’s destruction.

Now that Gaza is largely destroyed, the truth about what happened on October 7th is starting to come out. Truth that brave journalists have known for some time. Truth that U.S. mainstream media sources have largely obscured. In a recent speech, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu pointed to the AK-47 rifle as Hamas’ “principal weapon.” Yes, there were some rockets and some grenade launchers, he said, but no artillery, no air power, just assault rifles. Remember the shocking coverage of October 7th—images of catastrophic damage, the burned-out buildings of Kibbutz Be’eri, the incinerated cars, the destroyed homes? This kind of damage COULD NOT have been caused by Hamas’ assault rifles. The truth of the matter is that top Israeli military commanders activated the Hannibal Directive, which authorizes the killing of Israel’s own citizens to prevent their being captured by Hamas. Two squadrons of Apache helicopters armed with Hellfire and Stinger missiles and several tanks with heavy artillery were deployed to Southern Israel on October 7th. The wreckage on the battlefield exactly matched the severe damage typical of such lethal munitions. Israel’s sophisticated propaganda machine swung into action. Israel inflated the death toll and quickly blamed Hamas for the “largest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.” With the help of a compliant western media, Israel flooded the airways with grisly tales of beheaded babies and systematic rape, fueling the narrative that Israel was defending itself against “barbarians.” It turns out that these lies were concocted by a unit of fanatical Israeli reservists, an organization called ZAKA, which fundraised over 50 million shekels from these sensational lies. All of these lies have been debunked. Israeli officials have quietly acknowledged that these allegations were unfounded. Nonetheless, this atrocity-propaganda established the pretext for an all-out war against “the terrorists.” Tragically, this false pretext led to the murder of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, the largest proportion of whom were women and children, and rendering Gaza uninhabitable. So far, no one has been held accountable for these horrific crimes against humanity.
More truth is coming out. On February 10, 2026, the Israeli periodical Ha’aretz reported that top Israeli intelligence and security professionals warned as early as 2014 that conditions in the Gaza Strip were volatile, that Hamas was building its forces and plotting a major attack. Prime Minister Netanyahu was briefed about this possibility. These warnings resurfaced in 2022-2023, with greater urgency, and American and Egyptian intelligence sources warned Israeli officials in late September 2023, just weeks before the October 7th attack, that “something big” may be coming. Given these longstanding, credible warnings, many in Israel have wondered why Israel was left so vulnerable to the Hamas attack on October 7th. Many Israelis are demanding an official commission of inquiry to uncover the answers. While we await those findings, reports have leaked that soldiers guarding the fence line with Gaza were ordered to “stand down.” Why did Netanyahu and top military officials ignore the warnings? And why was one of the most heavily surveilled and well-defended borders in the world vulnerable to a Hamas attack on October 7th? Hamas had been planning and rehearsing this attack for months. Surely Israel, with its sophisticated surveillance technology, would have been aware of Hamas’ preparations, occurring in plain sight less than three miles from Israel’s southern bases. After the attack, Hamas fighters reported they were astonished at how little resistance they faced from the Israeli military. Palestinians report that normally anyone approaching the Gaza fence line is shot. Farmers tending their lands are routinely fired upon. They say it simply isn’t credible that the border was left so undefended. Unless, that is, it was deliberate. If we allow ourselves to consider that it may have been deliberate, the question is what Netanyahu and his close advisors stood to gain from allowing such an attack to take place. Not a crazy question when you recall that they have long wanted to eliminate Hamas and to gain Gaza as a part of Greater Israel, especially now with messianic fanatics like Smotrich and Ben G’vir in top leadership posts. It is not hard to imagine them waiting for the “right circumstances” to execute this plan. One has to wonder if the Hamas attack, which they surely knew was coming, was something they thought they could exploit to achieve these goals. Did they say to themselves, with cold utilitarian logic, “True, some Israelis will have to be sacrificed. But, think of the greater good?” Did they assure themselves that they could run the entire operation from their cynical playbook – control the narrative, demonize Hamas, portray themselves as innocent victims of “terrorists,” respond with overwhelming military force, justify it as “self-defense,” and count on a continuous supply of weapons, diplomatic shielding, and unwavering support from America’s political and media elites? Much as it flies in the face of all we hold dear, if we step back and take a long hard look at the brutal history of the Zionist project in Palestine, the only sensible answer is, “Of course, they did.” The only remaining question is whether any of the architects of this madness will ever be held to account
